How to choose an auto detailer in Florida

Questions worth asking before you hand over the keys.

Start with what you actually need

A maintenance wash, a full interior and exterior detail, paint correction and a ceramic coating are four different jobs at four very different prices. Decide which one you're shopping for before you compare quotes.

Ask how they wash

Ask whether they use a two-bucket or foam pre-wash method, what they use on wheels, and how they dry the car. Most swirl marks on dark paint come from washing and drying, not from driving.

Get the price in writing

A good detailer will look at the vehicle and give you a written price, including what happens if the car is dirtier than expected. Pet hair, sand and stains are the usual surprises in Florida.

Shop or mobile?

Mobile detailers bring water and power to you. Shops control the light, shade and temperature, which matters for paint correction and coatings in Florida heat. Neither is better for every job.

Look at their own photos

Ask to see before-and-after photos of their own work on a car like yours, and read their reviews on more than one site.
